Habersham Community Theater: North Georgia’s Hidden Gem

There’s just something special about a small, local theater. The intimacy of seeing the characters up close, the ever-present history of the building itself seeping into every part of the show, and the ease with which you can completely immerse yourself into the story being told. The Habersham Community Theater is all that and more. Make it a part of your stay in the north Georgia mountains, and you will be as delighted as you are captivated.

The Habersham Community Theater is just off the square in Clarkesville, GA. It was originally built in 1937 as a movie theater. Now it’s a cultural epicenter for all theater-lovers–locals and visitors alike. It was also the recent recipient of a Fox Theatre Institute grant to restore the facade of the building.

The upcoming production of the Sound of Music is one you won’t want to miss. This classic musical has been mesmerizing audiences for over 50 years. Amber Miller will play Maria, and shows will begin September 19 and run through October 6, 2019. Get your tickets here. If you can’t make it to this show, take a look at what other performances there will be over the 2019-2020 season. And keep your eye out for other shows, as the theater is known to host special concerts, children’s productions, art exhibits, and more.

So long as you’re enjoying live performances in Clarkesville, you won’t want to miss a chance to try out one of their lovely restaurants to make the day or evening really special. Harvest Habersham is one of our very favorites–and The Attic and the Copper Pot are also great, local choices.

And when the last curtain falls, make sure your night concludes with a luxurious stay in one of our cozy, comfortable rooms. Book today! (866-245-4777)
