Looking for an adventure this Spring Break? Georgia State Parks has just the thing for nature-lovers, thrill-seekers, and avid hikers alike. This season, give their Canyon Climbers Club a try and explore all the beauty this gorgeous state has to offer. Stay at Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn & Spa here in northeast Georgia for quick access to Tallulah Gorge State Park, one of the stops you’ll make along your route to Canyon Climbing success!

The Canyon Climbers Club has four parks to visit to earn the coveted t-shirt and bragging rights:A man standing on the Tallulah Gorge suspension bridge holding a camera

Tallulah Gorge is the park you’ll want to visit during your stay at Lucille’s. The journey marked out for the Canyon Climbers Club will take you along a path that eventually crosses the gorge (on a sturdy suspension bridge) and follows a trail along the gorge rim, providing breathtaking views of the river and waterfall. When you reach the bridge, you can choose to continue across and down to Hurricane Falls, go across and up along the rim, or turn around and head back to the interpretive center. Make sure to stop at the gift shop to purchase your canyon climbers card or to have your current card punched. When you’ve completed all four canyons, you can send in your card to receive a one-of-a-kind t-shirt commemorating all your hard work and the exciting adventures you had.

While you’re there, you may want to explore other opportunities offered at Tallulah Gorge. They have scheduled aesthetic water releases (which are days when you cannot hike down through the gorge). You can arrive early to get one of the 100 floor permits they give out daily. This will allow you to hike even further into the canyon and experience even more of the beauty up close. Rock climbers find Tallulah Gorge to be an incredible place to test their skills, so you may find yourself watching in awe as folks scale the rocky outcroppings along the gorge (or perhaps YOU are the one who wants to scale those walls!). Enjoy fishing, geocaching, swimming, biking, and more at this hidden gem among the Georgia state parks.

Once you’ve had your fill of the beautiful north Georgia mountains and waterfalls, head back to your clean, comfortable, and luxurious room here at Lucille’s. Enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep and wake up to a fresh gourmet breakfast – the best in town! So grab your hiking boots, book a stay with us, and head out on your next big adventure!
