How to Get the Most Out of Your Lucille’s Day Spa Massage Treatment

Many folks who use our on-site day spa here at Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn are looking for rest and relaxation while on their North Georgia Mountain getaway. In addition to relaxing, many of our guests are also hoping to relieve some aches and pains and enjoy the therapeutic aspects of massage treatment. Whatever brings you to an appointment at Lucille’s Day Spa, we want you to leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! Here are some ideas to help you get the most out of your visit to our spa.

Come Prepared

Schedule a time when you won’t have to rush to anything after your treatment. To get the full benefit of the stress-relief properties of a massage, you will want to make sure you get to continue to bask in the glow of a relaxed body well after your appointment is through. Lots of clients like to go back to their room for a nap or quietly read on our back deck. Not having any responsibilities looming on the horizon also helps you to be able to enjoy the “here and now” of the massage. Remove all your jewelry and accessories and silence all of your gadgets. You want this time to be just for you, so try to avoid any distractions. Make a stop at the restroom before your appointment too.

Maximize Your Benefit

It’s important to schedule the right amount of time for your appointment. If you’re looking for relaxation, a 55-minute massage is usually adequate. If you’d like your massage therapist to work on specific sore or achy spots, schedule an 85-minute massage.

Take deep breaths at the beginning and throughout your massage. Try to calm your mind and focus your thoughts on things that make you feel at ease and comfortable. Your therapist will be able to identify and address tense muscles the more relaxed you are.

Drink plenty of water so that your body is able to flush out all the toxins that the massage has released. If you are able, a nice warm bath with some Epsom salts will help to remove even more toxins and help you continue in your relaxation. Our therapists also recommend stretching the following day to keep your muscles supple and feeling good.

Even though Lucille’s Day Spa is open to guests and non-guests alike, we think the best way to experience our services is with a stay at our inn. We love to pamper you in any way we can during your overnight stay, and the day spa is just one part of the total luxury experience you can have here. So start taking care of yourself and book a stay with us!
