Wow Your Friends & Family with this Double Chocolate Cookies Recipe

It’s Christmastime, which means, if you’re like us, you’re probably looking for a particularly special cookie recipe to wow your friends and family with. Look no further! Try out this scrumptious double chocolate cookie recipe that we love making for our guests at our mountain inn. It’s perfect for cookie exchanges, pairing with your favorite warm beverage, or indulging in a little midnight snack. We think you might even make Santa happy when you leave them out for him on Christmas eve!


  • 1 1/8 cups butter (2 sticks + 2 tablespoons)
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla until it is incorporated throughout the dough.
  4. Next blend in the cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the flour to the mixture and blend just until it is fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips
  7. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop dough into even-sized balls onto your cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 8-9 minutes.
  9. Remove to a wire rack to cool.

Makes about 2-4 dozen cookies, depending on your preferred size.
