If you love the flavors of Greek and Mediterranean foods (we do!), then take a drive over to Dahlonega, Georgia, to Capers on the Square. This is a little gem of a restaurant with a menu that consistently delivers and a staff that makes you feel welcome.
Dahlonega is a picture-perfect north mountain town that’s an easy drive from Lucille’s. It has a charming historic downtown and Capers is smack dab in the middle of it.
The menu specializes in Greek and Mediterranean foods, and heading that list has to be the gyros—a personal favorite and excellent! There are also superb flatbreads with toppings that include braised cinnamon chicken and fig with goat cheese. Diners will also find a nice listing of appetizers and spreads, with Mediterranean specialties such as spanakopita and hummus. Along with cinnamon braised chicken on the main menu, there are moussaka, several pasta dishes, fish, and angus beef steak. Capers also has a nice bar with Greek wines and beers included in the drink options.
