North Georgia’s Wine Highway Week: March 16-25, 2018

An annual rite of spring in the North Georgia Mountains is Wine Highway Week, scheduled this year for March 15-25. Contrary to its name, the event actually covers 10 days, providing a wonderful opportunity for wine lovers to explore local and regional vineyards and wineries.A glass of white wine sitting on a ledge.

Georgia is making a name for itself as a quality wine area, and the North Georgia Mountains are where many of the quality wines can be found. Our elevation, climate and soil—which is similar to that of Italy’s Piedmont region—are ideal for growing grapes. During Wine Highway Week, you’ll be able to visit local vineyards and wineries, learn about individual wines, and best of all, enjoy tastings!

The Wine Highway Week is sponsored by the Winegrowers Association of Georgia. With a $50 ticket, participants receive a collector’s glass and passport, giving them access to all participating wineries at no additional charge. Hosting wineries will offer a unique variety of food and wine pairing, music, barrel and library tastings, and other select activities.
