Nature hikes. Heading out into the woods in winter is a great way to burn off holiday calories and soak in some of our fresh mountain air. Visit New Year’s Day and you can join the First Day Hikes at Smithgall Woods State Park or Unicoi State Park. Both are led by an Interpretive Ranger and are2 to 2½-miles long. Any other time, pick up a park map and head out for a fun trek of your own.
