Sautee Nacoochee Center’s 35th Anniversary

Not that you ever need an excuse to head up to the mountains, but this is a great reason to visit in September: the 35th Anniversary of the Sautee Nacoochee Center (SNS), September 24, 2016.view from Inn

The Center is a beacon in our community, providing a source of education and entertainment for all ages. The SNC was created in 1981 along with its parent organization, Sautee Nacoochee Community Association, to preserve and promote the land, heritage, language and culture of this Northeast Georgia region. It has done a phenomenal job. Today visitors can enjoy art, music, dancing, educational programs, and a variety of wonderful activities throughout the year.

This anniversary day celebration, hosted by the Evening Star Folk Society, will begin at noon with an Old-Time Music Jam that will continue all afternoon. The day winds down with an Evening Contra Dance—and there’s a full lineup of fun activities and dinner in-between. Handmade pottery bowls will be available for purchase at the dinner.
