Head To Woody’s Mountain Bikes For A Georgia Adventure

More than 60 bike trails wind through the North Georgia Mountains nearby the Inn, leading to some fabulous rides and spectacular views. And for those in the know, most great rides start with a trip to Woody’s Mountain Bikes in Helen.

Woody’s is the complete package: rental store, repair shop, tour guide, shuttle service all rolled into one. Never been on a fat tire ride before? No problem. Woody’s eco adventures are designed for all skill levels, from first-timer to expert. They’ll provide the bike and helmet, helpful tips and all the encouragement you need for a fun ride.

The most popular trip is The Gap Ride, a 14-mile, self-guided tour through the Chattahoochee National Forest that’s a good trek for newer riders. Leave your car at Woody’s; they’ll transport you and your bikes up the mountain. There you pick up the Forest Service Road and ride it back down to the store. Along the way you’ll pass about a dozen waterfalls before riding alongside the Chatahoochee River on the home stretch.HR-WoodysMtB Biker-Chatt-River

On the Gold Mine Tour, riders can enjoy wetlands, old mines, a covered bridge, and waterfalls, adjusting the ride to the length they want. It’s another nice ride for all ages.
