Helen, GA 27th Annual Trout Tournament

Anglers, mark your calendars for this fun and challenging event, Saturday, March 26, 2016. Not only can you enjoy a day fishing on a gorgeous stretch of river, but your catch could be worth up to $1000! fishing w title

The Helen Chamber of Commerce, sponsors for the 27th Annual Trout Tournament, will be stocking the stretch of the Chattahoochee River that flows through town with hundreds of pounds of trout. The DNR will be adding trout as well, so the river will literally be teeming with fish just waiting for you to snag them.

Anglers of all ages are welcome to participate as long as they have a Georgia fishing license and trout stamp. (We can help you with where to get them). Prizes from $25 to $1000 will be awarded, with the top three prizes judged by individual weight of the tagged trout.

The location couldn’t be more idyllic. Helen is just 20 miles from the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River, a waterway known for crystal clear water that flows from springs, streams and tributaries in the National Forests and the Appalachian Watershed. With such a pretty setting, this is a great outing even for those just observing the tournament, or looking to spend an enjoyable day outside.
