Learn to Fly Fish this Fall in North Georgia

The mountain streams and rivers of North Georgia offer some of the best trout fishing in the eastern U.S.  If you have always wondered how to fly fish the perfect time of year to learn is coming up.  With little rain and comfortable temperatures, not to mention spectacular scenery, Fall is a great time to learn how to fly fish like a pro.

The area around Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn & Spa is dotted with beautiful trout streams like Dukes Creek and Sautee Creek, and the famous Chattahoochee and Soque Rivers.  Unicoi Outfitters, an Orvis Endorsed Outfitter located less than four miles from Lucille’s, is just one of the outfitters in the area that offers fly fishing classes for the beginner.

In less than one day, Unicoi Outfitters can teach you the art of fly fishing and have you on a stream or river that afternoon.  This class introduces you to a well-rounded set of basic skills that includes knot tying, rigging rods, casting on land and in-stream and three methods of fly fishing. Classes are limited to 6, so this is the perfect time to plan an outing with friends and family here in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia for a few days of outdoor fun.

Most of the day long class is spent outdoors, all equipment needed is included and a copy of Orvis’ Guide to Fly Fishing is yours to keep. Class is in session from 9:00am to 4:00pm, includes lunch and is $150.00 per person.  Beginner’s classes are scheduled for September 13, 2014 and October 11, 2014. Call us here at Lucille’s at 706-878-5055 to make your plans to spend a relaxing evening or two while you spend the day learning to trout fish on a beautiful mountain river.
