See the Georgia Mountains by Wine Bus or Carriage Ride

We don’t have Uber here in North Georgia but we do have two great ways to see the area while someone else does the driving.  A wine bus tour or a horse-drawn carriage ride along a scenic valley lane are both fun and relaxing ways to experience the mountains while you are visiting Lucille’s.
VIP Southern Tours
If you would like to visit some of the great regional wineries and tasting rooms while you are here, VIP Southern Tours offers a relaxing experience in a luxury executive mini-coach.  A day long tour includes up to five wineries and wine tasting rooms, a gourmet picnic lunch, as well as a little history and some points of interest along the way.  They also offer half-day tours, private charters, bachelorette tours as well as corporate and custom tours.  Find out all of your many options with VIP Southern Tours by visiting www.gawinetours.com.  Let them know you are staying at Lucille’s and they will pick you up and drop you off right at our front door!
Sautee Express Excursions
An old fashioned horse drawn carriage ride down a peaceful valley lane is great way to experience the area while someone else drives.  Local Veterinarian Scott Hancock has combined his love for horses, a collection of antique carriages and his desire for sharing the beauty of the mountains into a unique tour service, Sautee Express Excursions.  Your tour begins from the nearby Village of Sautee.  From there you travel at a leisurely pace down Lynch Mountain Road, a shady lane that follows the edge of the Sautee Valley. Along the way you will get some history of the valley and then stop at a lovely spot where a historic church was built in the 1800’s.  This three mile, two hour private carriage tour is best enjoyed during the early morning or at sunset. And a hint to our gentlemen visitors:  This tour is just as romantic as a Venetian gondola tour.  Book your outing with Sautee Express Excursions by calling them at 706-969-4036 or at 404-310-2558.

We look forward to seeing you at Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn & Spa, where relaxation meets the mountains in North Georgia.

  1. We are going to be staying in Blue Ridge, Ga.-May 7th thru May 14th 2016, we have never been on a carriage ride, but we have always wanted to do this together. I thought it would be romantic, we have been married for 19 years and we didn’t get to go on a honeymoon, cause we had to buy a house. So how far would we have to drive from Blue Ridge, Ga. to Helen, Ga.? How long is the ride? How much for the carriage ride for 2 people only? Do you have romantic packages to go along with the carriage rides? How long is the carriage rides?

  2. Google maps says it should take about an hour 20 minutes to get to Sautee from Blue Ridge. Sautee Express can tailor a carriage ride for whatever you’d like – feel free to contact them directly via their website (http://www.sauteeexpressexcursions.com/). Our Love in Paradise spa package would be the perfect addition to the carriage ride – although you might want to have to drive all the way back to Blue Ridge after all that!
